I live in San Diego and have decided to be a tourist in my own city As a Local Tourist, I decided to explore all the attractions that bring so many people here each year. I was seeing the typical sights; Sea World, the Zoo, Balboa Park, etc. and eventually visited Old Town where I found GoCar Tours (they also have a location downtown near Seaport Village). It looked like so much fun! I rented one of the cool yellow cars and took the tour through Downtown and the Gas Lamp Quarter, Petco Park, Balboa Park and it was a BLAST! The GPS guide was interesting and was very good at keeping me from getting lost. People were waving at me and smiling everywhere I went.
I almost felt like a celebrity.
They have a tour now that goes through my neighborhood (Ocean Beach) and my sister wants to take it with me so we are gong to rent a GoCar this weekend.
Anytime someone visits me from out of town, I am usually working during the week and on the weekends end up doing the same Sea World/Zoo thing. But now I have something really cool for them to do and they don’t need a map or me to go with them. Tour buses are great, but this is a really cool way to see San Diego.
